It is my first time attended astanga class as I am somewhere nearby the location and after some consideration, thinking to give it a try. Teacher Ashley is very experienced and guided the class pace very well, started with chanting, focus on breathing, and shared that that we do not need to push all the way given that this class requires sustainability and I’m glad to know this because 1 and half hour class with sun salutation A and B warm up body very quickly and followed by the rest of the asana in standing, seating and finishing are not easy. I’m also glad that with teacher’s demo, clear instruction, gentle correction on my alignment and the spot I chose between regulars gave me a very comfortable practice that allowed me to peep when needed. Teacher also gave variation! Will attend again! 👍

I think the class size at HV is just right where the instructor is able to go around to adjust your form quite a bit. Unlike traditional pilates that go by reps, they count down for each move (like HIIT). The cold towel at the end is a nice touch. :) Can consider coming here if you’re looking to switch it up from your usual pilates, but maybe won’t recommend anyone totally new to pilates to start here (would be better to start with traditional pilates to get your form right first).
