see all reviewsWe were 2 people in the class and coach accordingly adjusted it based on our level. The class was intense but still fun as the coach had good humor. His instructions were easy to follow. At the end of the class I was gassed. The location of the gym is very central in Sheung Wan. Bit small but has all the necessary amenities. Can recommend to try it out

see all reviewsA very fun experience even for first timers who had zero clue about martial arts. The Coaches would adjust the training intensity (time and reps) depending on the different levels of fitness and experience of class goers (1.5 instructors to 3-4 students in off-peak). Lots of variety in exercises and techniques to provide a progressive circuit, combining movements taught earlier on in the session into a longer series of movements by the end as well as general motor control exercises. Training area would be cleaned immediately after class and there were ample hygiene facilities and lockers. Difficulties in understanding verbal prompts would also be quickly resolved via demonstrations.

see all reviewsYoung instructor: because I am a zero degree white belt, I cannot even do a forward shoulder roll in a straight line, but the Professor gave us very detailed explanation on how to do it well, and also side break fall. He also had lots of philosophical ideas on how I can pass my enemy’s guard, do the knee on belly, and do the knee slice. Now I finally understand what people meant when they liken BJJ to playing chess.Lots of food for thought. If I can incorporate his ideas into my skills, my technique will improve a lot, giving me higher chances to defeat my enemies.

see all reviewsBlack instructor: 2 students. The other guy was late, so I had a private class for the first few minutes lol. The Professor is a BIIIIIIG dude! His height is only average(maybe around 1.7M ), but his upper body muscles are HUUUUGE! I signed up for a grappling class, but it turned out to be an MMA class, which is even better because I want to punch my enemies as well as grapple them ! We did cycling, heavy bag punching and kicking while standing, dummy punching and elbowing while mounting and in knee-on-belly position, and finally guard-passing sparring with a partner. Because I am a beginner, I was only able to burn 27 calories after 8 rounds of cycling. The professor said he can burn 30 in 1 round ^ _ ^ I pray that as I practice more, I can become less weak ;)

see all reviewsHKer instructor: the self defence class started out unexpected. First, we did a dive roll over a tall object. It was too scary for me so I just did a regular forward roll. Then, we jumped over a high rail, like in parkour, or something like that. I was not able to, so I jumped next to the rail rather than over it. The rest of the class is what you would expect in an MMA class. Lots of fun; the beginning was the hardest.

The Professor taught me lots of drills, including how to escape while my enemy has pinned me down, and also how to sweep my enemy while he has mounted me. We ended up with 3 rounds of sparring so that everyone goes with everyone. Because I am a 0 degree white belt, I cannot even do a knee on belly properly. My Senpai was walking me through how to put more weight on him, but no matter how hard I tried, he seemed to not feel anything lol!
