Hot Pilates Sculpt (Big J8-1887 El Camino Real)
see all reviewsHands down the best class I’ve ever taken. Music was incredible - think rap+edm+pop hybrid (with a mix of newer songs & 90/00s hits). Temperature was perfect - warm and sweaty but not to the point where you get lightheaded. The instructor was so kind and strong - she was up on a platform (so you could see her perfectly even from the very back of the room) and she did the ENTIRE class with us while still cueing and encouraging us. What a rockstar. Walked out of there feeling amazing. They have extra mats for you if you don’t have one, but definitely bring water and a towel to wipe the sweat. Lots of people were barefoot but grippy socks could be a good idea if you prefer. Truly cannot recommend this studio enough!

As someone new to yoga, I appreciated that she offered modifications and progressions for each movement, allowing beginners like me to participate while still feeling challenged. see all reviewsA good class- and it felt like a decent workout -although I’m new to these things l. but they really do need to figure out a way to welcome you for your first time at GOAT and to show new people around! Literally say “hello” - to people when they arrive at your class for the first time! Let folks know where the equipment is, what to use and how to check-in! Ask about injuries …. There’s obviously a community there and it seems to be a well appreciated local asset -so that’s great- but honestly welcoming people in the first time/just acknowledging their existence when they visit would make a real difference- rather than just completely ignoring them and letting them figure everything out by themselves!

I play hockey but had never done a real hiit workout until my girlfriend invited me to join her for one of his classes. It was hard but he made the time fly by, by playing great music and encouraging us all to have fun with the exercises. He mixes in a lot of free-form cardio (read: dance) and we work at our own pace. I stayed with it for a few classes, slogging it out as my body got used to this whole thing, and before I knew it I started to really look forward to the class. That was two and a half years ago and I have been going twice a week ever since. Total game changer in my life.
