    High 45

I wasn’t sure what to expect but enjoyed the class - Meghan didn’t call out specific speeds like in a Barry’s class but let us pick speed based on exertion levels and previewed how long we’d be maintaining that speed (ie 90 seconds to 4 minutes). Did not love the flashing lights during class in the background but that’s just my preference. Playlist was unique and transitioned between hip hop, 90s rock, 2000s hits, a little EDM. While I’m mostly an outdoor runner I can see myself doing a class in the winter to prep for a race since

Studio is a bit dated and doesn’t really have any amenities like some other studios. The workout was good though - not too challenging, but well rounded. Just keep in mind there’s other mat and private Pilates sessions happening next to this class so that may be distracting for some people

This is a good class, and I like how she goes around to help beginners. The one thing that is a serious safety hazard is that a lot of new people do their boxers sit-ups far outside of their circle, and they run the risk of getting hurt by the people around them. It also risks hurting those of us who are inside the circle. There should be an announcement made in the beginning of class that this is where you should be seated for these. I almost hurt someone just because she was almost a full foot above her designated space. I hope this is fixed soon because this has been pretty consistent over the last few months but wasn’t a problem before.

Katie Van Buren is an absolute vibe and will make you actually love running (I’m dead serious). I’m not a runner—never have been—but after one class with her, I’m lowkey hooked on it. She has such fun playlists, super infectious energy, and somehow makes running feel like a party (again, I’m dead serious) Her vibe is very magnetic—she pushes you just enough to make you feel like a total badass, but always in the most fun, motivating way. DO HER FRIDAY MORNING 45 MIN!!! That was my first workout w her and now I can’t miss it—also never thought I could do 45 mins straight running, but here we are. If you get the chance, try it. You’ll leave with a huge smile, sense of accomplishment out the wazoo, and a seriously epic runner’s high. Katie is a legend.

Really great first class! It was a bit hard to find because the apartment building wasn’t open yet so we had to get buzzed in. There was also no label saying the studio was on the third floor. But other than that, the class was nice. It wasn’t too difficult, felt more like a stretching class than a strength building. Our instructor was very kind, she didn’t correct our forms though, I wish she did so I knew if i was doing things correctly. Very beautiful studio!

This is my favorite class at Ishta. I really love the way that Wendy integrates Tantric breath practices, and offers lots of thoughtful options for people to modify the asana to meet their level while emphasizing the breath and energy awareness. I leave feeling balanced, relaxed, and peaceful

This was my first yoga class and it was absolutely amazing! I left the class feeling a burn in my core yet still calm and refreshed. Alex was very helpful guiding me through the poses and I will definitely be back.
